I love music, all types, and have to say that there are few performers as naturally gifted as Karen Carpenter. This new release 40/40 is a tribute to the legacy of the Carpenters and effortlessly shows the emotional range, artistry and pure angelic gift that was the voice of Karen carpenter/5().

Some copies come with a stickered blue silver embossed card slipcase as part of the re-issue series celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first Carpenters album release. Some versions have variant SID codes. For a similar Europe version with an outer dark blue slipcase and made by EDC Germany, please see Carpenters - 40//5(12).

Crystal Lullaby Lyrics: Listen to the song he sings / Can't you see his music brings her crystal sleep? / As her heavy eyelids fall / He's taking her to where the dolls rule the world / And in.

Lyrics to 'Crystal Lullaby' by The Carpenters. Listen to the song he sings Can't you see his music brings her crystal sleep? As her heavy eyelids fall He's taking her to where the dolls rule the world And in that land of make believe is where he'll leave her sleeping.

May 11,  · I'd pick 40/40 for three reasons: It has "Love Is Surrender" It has "Crystal Lullaby" It does not have "Merry Christmas Darling" Not that MCD isn't a great song; but Christmas songs don't belong in non-Christmas compilations. Also 40/40 has a better-looking cover, IMHO. And I think "Yesterday Once More" is a much better song to kick things off with than "Superstar.".
