Usually, we get 5 boxes of dots of one color and one roll of the same colored tape (usually the 60 yard roll for the best value). At first, we bought the 1/2" width, but over time we found that the 3/4" was better, because it provided more space for legible writing.. We've found that the tape works better than labels for color coding our metal, cylindrically-shaped containers.

To erase to a background color you have to disable background transparency by unchecking the 'transparency checkbox'. The checkbox is to the for right of the color picker above the checkered image thumb that represents transparency. The default background color is white but you can choose the color by selecting the background color swatch.

The erase procedure for MacOS Sierra and later is different from that for El Capital and earlier, so choose the right procedure for the version of MacOS you’re using.
